Eishiya (IPA: ɛˈiːɕija) is the world with which this Wiki is concerned. The name is used to refer to both the entire fictional universe, and the planet which is the setting of most of the stories set in that universe. This article will mostly discuss the planet Eishiya.

Etymology
Eishiya is a word in the Kithe language. It is used in a similar way to the English universe but its literal meaning is "quiet forge," referring to the Kithe creation myths. The term is not used by any species or people native to the planet Eishiya, each native language has its own term for the world/planet. It is due to this lack of a commonly accepted term that a (relatively) off-world term is used when discussing Eishiya as fiction. The Kithe do not refer to the planet as Eishiya, in their language the word is reserved for the entire universe.
History
There are no large-scale studies of the planet, and due to a lack of understanding of how the world works on a large scale, there is no commonly accepted history. Most nations have their own creation myths and ideas on the origin of humans, but many of these are conflicting.
In reality, humans evolved to roughly their modern form south of what is now Kuuguon about 60,000 years ago. They migrated to the other continents about 10,000 years ago, during an ice age. At that time, the continents were slightly closer together, and much of the northern waters were either frozen or much calmer than they presently are. There has been minor differentiation as the scattered groups of humans have adapted to their environments, and many of these groups are unaware that humans exist elsewhere. For this reason, most of the ethnic groups have largely independent histories, which will not be covered in this article, but may be found in the History category.
Population
There are about 500 million humans living in Eishiya. More than half are on the West Continent. The birth and death rates are roughly equal in the long term for the entire planet, although this is not true locally, with some groups showing clear growth while others are in decline.
Physical Properties
The planet Eishiya is much like Earth in its structure and natural processes. It varies slightly in its dimensions, with a radius of 6310 km2 and mass of about 5.8 × 1024 kg. Eishiya is much closer to having a spherical shape than the Earth. At 1.4 AU, it is farther away from the Sun than the Earth is from its sun, but the larger sun produces a similar amount of insolation and solar wind.
Eishiya's Moon is larger than the Earth's moon. Its radius is about 1850 km2 and its mass is about 8.6 × 1022 kg. Its pull on Eishiya's waters in part accounts for the rough conditions on its coasts.
Eishiya is the second planet from the sun in its system, and is one of four total observed planets, although there may still be other planets yet to be discovered.
